Blog 3- Book Promotion and Interactive Readings!

In my last blog, I told you about the Tooth Fairy and her playful frog, Vitric. My third blog is about promoting my book, “Joey trifft die Zahnfee” and our interactive readings!

Read the blog to know why it took me so long to publish a new one.

Book Promotion – Three phases

Writing a book is easier than promoting it, says Mom. She encouraged me to get involved in the promotion process. Mom wanted me to learn how authors do it. She said this will help me to be more organized with school projects. To make it more fun and interesting, we divided it into three phases: 1)Identifying and finding our readers, 2)Ordering the promotion material, and 3) Distribution.

It was a lot of work, but I had fun!

First, we made a list of all the pre-schools, elementary schools, public libraries, and bookstores in our city and nearby towns. Mom said it will help us to calculate how many flyers and posters we needed. Second, we ordered the flyers and posters from a local printing company. Their price was within our budget. Third, we distributed them. Mom also asked if it will be possible to do a reading. We were happy to hear when two Public Libraries let us do the reading.

Book Readings and the Christmas Markets

Let me first tell you about the famous Christmas Markets in Germany. There you find typical Christmas food and drinks from each region. You also find sweets for children, Christmas decorations, and gifts for the family. In big cities like Cologne and Frankfurt, they are open during the Advent Season. In Letmathe the market is open only on the third and fourth Sunday of Advent.

1st Book Reading: Letmathe Public Library

Sunday, December 11, 2022

It was the inauguration day of the Christmas Market. The Program includes many activities for family. We were part of the Children’s Program. My friends and I always meet at the Market. We sing, listen to music and stories, eat sugar-coated almonds (my favorite), and drink warm fruit juice.

Our reading was at the Children’s Corner on the lower floor of the library. My mom used different voices during the reading. The children asked her questions. It was an interactive reading. The parents congratulated her. My friends gave me a high-five! The librarian’s assistant invited her to come back. I was very proud of her.

2nd Book Reading: Iserlohn Public Library

Friday, January 6, 2023

Our second reading was on the festivity of The Three Kings. There were 20 children with their parents. Mom used different voices and sounds during the reading. The children played along. All were impressed with the story. The Librarian was speechless and invited Mom to come back for a reading.

My mom is the best storyteller in the whole world. I think she will win an Oscar.

Blog 2 – The amazing Tooth Fairy, and her unusual frog, Vitric.

Mom, mom look! My fans came back to read my second blog! Mom is happy for me because I am building my fan base. Now I feel like a big star. (wink)

Welcome back!

In my first blog, I told you about myself and my amazing visit to the Tooth Fairy Castle. This month, I will tell you about the Tooth Fairy and her playful frog, Vitric.

The beautiful dark skin, physical disabled Tooth Fairy, moving around with her “amapraconvelous flying wheelchair.” "Amapraconvelous” stands for amazing, practical, convenient, and marvelous. (Joey trifft die Zahnfee- ISBN-13: 9783755746669)

What is a Tooth Fairy?

I will share with you what my Dad told me about her. This story has been passed on from one generation to the next. Hmm, I wonder if one of my great-grandparents met her.

“The Tooth Fairy is a kind, supernatural creature with a human form and magical powers!”

Where does the Tooth Fairy live?

“She lives in a big, bright tooth castle way up above the clouds. You can see it at night. It’s the smallest shining star up there in the big dark sky.”

How does the Tooth Fairy look like?

My Tooth Fairy has beautiful dark skin and black hair like Mom. Her legs don’t work well, so she built an exclusive “amapraconvelous flying wheelchair.” “Amapraconvelous” stands for amazing, practical, convenient, and marvelous. She gave me a tour of her castle. I had to run to catch up with her!

The World Dotted Map is located in the second floor of the Tooth Fairy Castle. This is how she knows the address and the name of the child who lost a tooth. In sparking, humming bubbles Fountain is also located in this room. Her frog Vitric, lives in the fountain and creates the bubbles.
The Tooth Fairy, Joey, and Vitric, the playful frog at the World Dotted Map Room.

What is Vitric?

Now I will tell you about her playful, transparent frog, Vitric. It lives in the sparkling bubble fountain in the Dotted Map Room.

Vitric has a very important job. It creates a humming, sparking bubble, whenever a kid loses a tooth. The bubble then flies up to the World Dotted Map and lands on their address.

What is the World Dotted Map?

The World Dotted Map is located on the second floor. It is covered with tiny silver antennas. They look just like your grandma’s hair. There is an antenna for each child in the world. The antenna grows when it picks up the right bubble’s humming.

Ahhh, there is so much to tell you, but so little time.

About young blogger and co-author, Joey Paco

Hello and surprise!

I was the July Featured Guest. At the bottom of the post, you will find the link to my interview. I talked about my debut book, “Joey trifft die Zahnfee.” Wow, I sound like a professional author. But before I get distracted, I will tell you about myself.

I am an adventurous and curious eight-year-old. I enjoy riding my bike, doing sports, reading, and our family travels. I also keep a journal about my unusual adventures. I am also very persistent; at least, that is what my mom says.

And talking about my mom, she allowed me to blog here for the next few months. She said it is good to promote my book. But before I publish my blogs, we review them together. We are a great team! She also supervises my online activities. I don’t mind, she does. She cares about me and keeps me safe from the big bad wolf out there. Yes, my mom is also very dramatic. (wink) I know she loves me and knows what is best for me. It is important to be obedient to our parents and be honest.

My amazing visit to the Tooth Fairy’s Castle

Now I will talk briefly about my first adventure,  “Joey Meets the Tooth Fairy.” (“Joey trifft die Zahnfee”)

It all began with a bad day at school. The school bus was late again, and my friends were talking about the gifts they got from the Tooth Fairy. What is the problem, you asked? Hm, I was a late tether. It was my most well-kept secret. Then my friends found out about it and made fun of me. It hurt my feelings. I was upset when I came home. I talked with Mom about it and felt better after she hugged me. At bedtime, Dad told me a science-fiction story about the Tooth Fairy. He even showed me how to find her castle in the dark sky. My dad is a great storyteller!

It was a stormy night. The loud sound of thunder woke me up. I fell out of bed, wrapped in my blanket. I felt a tooth was missing. Where was it? I was clueless and puzzled. I looked everywhere. In desperation, I wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy and placed it under my pillow. I went back to sleep.

When I woke up, I was happy because I got a toy version of “Vitric.” During breakfast, I would not stop talking about my visit to the Tooth Fairy’s castle and my special gift. It was awesome. My mom suggested writing it down in my traveling journal before I forget about it. I smiled at mom and said, “Are you kidding me? Who can forget that?”

In the next blog, I will tell you more about the Tooth Fairy and her frog, Vitric.

Remember to brush your teeth and keep them shiny for the Tooth Fairy.
